From the author of Flight of the Cuckoo
....The world can be a scary place to navigate when you’re brain damaged. Even scarier when you aren’t entirely sure what you might have done during a blackout while your alternate personality is running around in your body. My wife calls him ‘The other one’.
If you can’t trust your own eyes or the people around you, sometimes it pays to take a leap of faith. I have, I stopped taking my little pink pill. I wonder what will happen?...
After a chance meeting with Sid during a hospital visit - who also suffered with schizophrenia, the two of us embarked on a sometimes humorous, sometimes terrifying journey of twists and turns in an effort just to stay in what we believed to be a state of equilibrium. The only problem was, neither of us knew if what we perceived was real or not, especially when LSD got thrown into the mix.
We also had a worrying eye on the news, as more and more people seemed to be going missing, and I wasn't certain if I, Sid, or any of our 'other selves' may have played a hand in it.

I would have given this book 5 stars but I wanted to be fair to all the author's potential readers. Some reviewers lodged major complaints about issues I was able to overlook because of the uniqueness of the story. My real issue was with the use and overuse of the "B" word, as well as other profane wording. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a well-placed cuss word periodically; however, some of these words detract heavily from the integrity of a book (just my humble opinion). Other than that (and a few typographical errors) this was one of the most hilarious and fun books I've read. I find real-life situations hysterically funny, as in the case of the protagonist's experiences with psychotropic medications and other mind altering drugs. Also, to experience mental health issues like schizophrenia from the patient's point of view sheds a unique illumination into the matter. Although the book was somewhat difficult to grasp in the beginning, after the initial fumbling I couldn't put it down. The author is witty, perceptive, hilarious and talented. To prevent myself from divulging any pertinent information and create spoilers, all I can say is that you will thoroughly enjoy this book once you give it a chance. I truly wish I could have given the book 5 stars, but perhaps the author will take heed of the criticism and refrain from using the "B" word repeatedly, or replace it with terminology much less offensive. Other than that, excellent job K.L. Smith!Product details

The Little Pink Pill Perception can be a tricky thing edition by K L Smith Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I like the different perspective - seeing the events unfold through the eyes of a mentally ill person. It's not at all like The Sound And The Fury, which still gives me nightmares from high school. I like reading so I don't do so with the objective of solving the crime or guessing the plot. The author takes the time to write the book and so I sit back and let the author take me for a ride. Without spoiling the plot any reader or movie goer today starts to wonder by the time he gets half way through if certain questions are still unanswered. Then comes the, Aha, I bet that's it - that's what's going on. That happened when I read this book. That said, it was still cleverly done. I was whooping out loud on the commuter train. Enjoyed the book very much; never got annoyed with the plot or characters.
Amazing novel! I never saw the ending until it was there. I did find the drug interaction a bit far fetched but overall the storyline was the most unique I've read for a long time!!
The Little Pink Pill was a very interesting book about mental illness and how that illness effects perception, judgement and interactions with other people. I found it to be a dark book which I usually do not enjoy. It stuck in my head as I read and I kept commenting to my husband about it. He asked why I was still reading it if it bothered me. But I had to keep reading. It was clear to me the author had experience with mental illness on some level. I found it fascinating to get an insight into their world. I do not know that it would be a good book for someone with multiple personalities or who needs medication to get through the day because it may encourage them to stop their meds. I don't think that is a good idea at all! Ultimately, I am so glad I followed through and finished The Little Pink Pill. It was well written and very interesting! I got to try this out as a free download, but it would be worth paying for this book!
This book was a very n interesting and mysterious one that I never expected to be. It has a lot of unexpected twists and turns. Just when you think you've got it all figured out.....Bam.....It's not what you think. While this was a great story, the book did have quite a few grammatical and spelling errors that we're annoying, but, not enough to make me put the book down. Unfortunately, when you get books on kindle for a little of nothing , this is why. I have and will continue to recommend this book and will research more titles of the authors to read in the future.
I wanted to give this 3.5 stars as I thought it was better than a 3, but the few little editing pieces here and there put me off giving a 4. All things considered, it deserves a 4 better than a 3 so there you are.
I really enjoyed the story and the style in which it was written. I felt I was there with Flynn on his journey, and the character of Sid also had me guessing along the way. Did Flynn invent Sid? Was Sid part of Flynn? Was Sid his own, real, person?
I also loved the dark humour in this, it was very believable and I found myself chuckling. I could easily see this as a dark comedy on TV, and would definitely watch it.
No spoilers here, but the end was done wonderfully, and I didn't see it coming! I love it when I don't see the twist!
Supporting independent authors. I know how hard it is to get reviews, especially reviews that come from someone you don't know. I received the book on a free download, and the least I can do is leave a review. I also read the author notes at the end of the novel. The story comes from experience. I would recommend.
This is a good psychological thriller about Flynn who is coping with the after effects of a traumatic brain injury. His life revolves around the "little pink pill" which helps him function in life without succumbing to black outs, mood swings, or bouts of severe depression. Although the pill eliminates the bad emotions, it also washes out the good leaving him emotionally numb for years on end. This well written book follows Flynn as he self-experiments with stopping his medication and attempting to feel alive again.
While the description may sound dark, moody, or brooding, I found "Little Pink Pill" to be an easy read. There were a lot of light and comedic moments as Flynn struggles with determining what it is real or not. I enjoyed the characters. And I appreciated that there was nothing "over the top" like you find in today's movies. It's just a good book. Be sure to read the Author's Note at the end. I thought that was the perfect ending for this.
